Alexandria Thibodeaux

This is a poem I wrote called: I'm Loyal to Myself, I'm Dedicated to You

I’m loyal to myself

I pledge allegiance to me.

Contrary is my belief

On the thought of loyalty.

Firm & constant support

Goes to me & to John.

And to those who’ve wholeheartedly

Remained present, not gone.

To give all or a large, part of my time

My resources, my energy,

my thoughts, & my dime –

I call this devotion

Not to me, but to thine.

Self-reverence™ nurtures love

From within — it’s innate.

It provides us magic fuel

To serve & create.

Which is why my loyalty

Is strictly reserved

To me –

And not you –

My integrity, preserved.
